I've been lucky enough over the past two years to document Red Bull Racing's Formula 1 team at every race. My role at track was to shoot all content anything from high-level production value documentaries like the one below, to shorter films posted on Red Bull's social channels. In more depth I was shooting/directing/dealing with our contributors throughout the whole season. This involved anything from creating the concept of the shoot to conducting interviews with key members of the team with the likes of Max Verstappen, David Coulthard and Christian Horner being on camera. I'd also be liaising and shooting with high-level celebrities and athletes such as David Beckham, Tom Holland, Seb Loeb, Mason Mount and Danny MacAskill to name a few. With travelling around the world I'm frequently dealing with moving equipment from country to country and coping with the gruelling 22 races in a season calendar.
The documentary above has been a real craft over the first half of the 22 season. I decided to take an observational documentary approach to the shoot, merely observing what has been a rollercoaster of a season. This interlaced with the incredible David Coulthard and cut by our two editors back home has produced an incredibly intricate piece of work that I'm very proud of. I also played a key role in advising and guiding the grade with the talented Dan Moran.
